Engineering Admission Eligibility Criteria 2024-25

First Year – Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates

• The candidate should be an Indian National.
• Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics or Business Studies, and obtained at least 45% marks (40% for Backward Class categories, EWS and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State) in the subjects taken together. The candidate should have appeared in all subjects of CET and obtained a non-zero score in the CET conducted by the Competent Authority.

OR — Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories).

All India Candidature / J&K Migrant Candidature Candidates

• The candidate should be an Indian National.
• Passed HSC (or equivalent) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects plus one elective as listed above, with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories in Maharashtra), and should obtain a non-zero positive score in JEE (Main) B.E./B.Tech, or a non-zero score in CET. Preference is given to candidates with a non-zero positive JEE (Main) score over CET.
• OR — Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories).

NRI / OCI / PIO / Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries / Foreign Nationals

Should have passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one elective subject (as listed above), and obtained at least 45% marks in the subjects taken together. Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act also applies.

Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry) Admission

For Maharashtra State Candidature and All India Candidature candidates:

• The candidate should be an Indian National.
• Passed a Diploma course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories in Maharashtra) in the appropriate branch, from an AICTE / Central or State Government approved institution or its equivalent.
• OR — Passed a B.Sc. degree from a UGC / AIU recognized university with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject – such students must clear Engineering Graphics/Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year programme along with second year subjects.
• OR — Passed D.Voc. stream in the same or allied sector.
• A suitable bridge course (e.g. in Mathematics) may be conducted where required.

Domicile & Candidature Categories

• Maharashtra State Candidature (Type A–E): Students domiciled in Maharashtra, or children of state/central government employees posted in Maharashtra, receive state-quota preference.
• Outside Maharashtra State (OMS): Students from other states are eligible but are generally categorised under the All-India Quota.
